Affective Polarisation and Emotional Distortions on Social Media

Abstract In this paper I argue that social networking sites (SNSs) are emotion technologies promote a highly charged emotional environment where intrinsic regulation is significantly weakened, and people's emotions more strongly modulated by other people the technology itself. show these features of media simplistic outlook which an obstacle to development maintenance virtue. addition, focus on mechanisms group-based anger thus give rise affective polarisation. final section, after discussion positive value some forms anger, SNSs should not be designed prohibit or suppress but its encouragement also avoided. conclude with suggestion about how might achieved.
